Pojoaque, New Mexico Speed Traps
State Route 84/285 near Cities of Gold Casino
The main route through Pojoaque is Route 84/285. Speed limits are enthusiastically enforced from the top of the hill just north of Buffalo Thunder resort all the way to Cities of Gold Casino (about 1.8 miles). Stay with or below the flow of traffic and there probably won’t be any problems, but you don’t want to be the driver going faster than anyone else.

US Highway 84 near US Highway 285
officers are in unmarked impalas and in some unmarked mustangs. don’t ask for a break because it seems to upset the officer’s. if you see a speed limit sign go that limit or below.

A two-mile long stretch where the speed limit drops from 55 MPH to 45 MPH and passes through the village of Pojoaque which is patrolled by Pojoaque Pueblo police. They use Ford Mustangs with minimal markings/lights.
Hwy 84/285
Pojoaque Pueblo Tribal Police are constantly set up as you approach the hill, heading north into the Pueblo. Speed drops to 45 MPH a mile before, but cops wait over the hill and into the commercial district. I am a local, and this is constant and on-going. Also heading south from the pueblo toward Santa Fe.
