NM68 & Stakeout Drive
Speed limit on NM68 South of Taos is 60mph. At somewhere between mile marker 35 and 36 (at Stakeout Drive) it drops to 50 for a very short stretch. State cops love to patrol this area and can often be found hiding in the bushes along this short stretch of road. They will most often issue a ticket, however it’s best to agree to appear in court as the magistrates in Taos are very reasonable and will often defer tickets so all you’re left with are court costs.
