Wagon Mound has always been known for the two town Marshals waiting for speeders to come over the hill in any direction especially during sun-up and sun-down. NOTE: The New Mexico State Police is considering taking over the villages Law Enforcement duties. So be careful cause there isn’t much for any Law Enforcement to do in a town of 500 people. They’ll be spending a lot of time on I-25 to pass the day by.

Wagon Mound is a town that is about an hour south of Raton, NM and an hour north of Las Vegas, NM. It is located at the crest of a fairly large & steep hill. Usually the cops like to sit on either side of the hill so that when you come over the top of the hill you get zapped by "instant on" radar. Because of their position behind the hill, your radar is virtually useless.
