Altamont, New York Speed Traps

When traveling on Route 156, leaving the town going towards Voorheesville, the surroundings get rural and you appear to have left the village. You have not! I was stopped for going 42 in a 30. I was speeding up because I thought I had exited the village limits. Wait until you reach the 45 mph sign outside of town.

The town of Altamont,NY makes a sizeable chunk of dough off of traffic infractions.The speed limit in town is 30.Obey it at all times.This is a small community and the police force has time on their hands.Don’t give them an opportunity to stop you.
