Speed limit is 25 MPH on a rural road with limited markings. Road comes to a stop sign in a open area with no houses.
Rt. 16 south of Franklinville NY
they sit at the Dollar General store parking lot just south of the town near Gates Creek Restaurant. Franklinville is very critical about speeding and will catch you if you are over 4-5 miles per hr
North and South of City on Rte. 98
Limit drops from 55mph to 30. Car hides in business lots and by Sugar Shack. If stopped you will get a $50.00 parking ticket. Parking fines stay local. State shares or gets all (not sure) of speeding fines.
State Route 39
Police cars hide in gas stations and parking lots. Opening day of hunting, you can expect someone to get a ticket.
State Highway Route 39 near State Highway Route 16; Route 98
Route 39 in Arcade is a four lane stretch of road between Route 16 and Routes 98. There are a couple of lights but generally the traffic flows freely. Speed limits, though, are 30 and 40 for the entire stretch 3-4 miles, well below what condiditons would suggest. Well known in rural WNY as a local speed trap. Follow the limits, day or night.
