Brockport, New York Speed Traps
Redman Road just before Holley street
There is a railroad bridge that goes over Redman road just south of Holley street, there is usually a police car parked just beside the bridge in the summer so that north bound traffic cant see it until its too late.
East Avenue near Just West of Sara’s Farm Market
Brockport PD monitors East Avenue with radar from a hidden position at the entrance to the water treatment plant. This is located between Havenwood Dr and Glendale Dr on the North side of East Ave. They have been VERY successful in ticketing those drivers that exceed the posted speed limit of 35 miles an hour, but usually won’t bother you if you keep it under 40. A majority of those stopped are those heading into the village coming in from the East and not slowing down as they come up the slight rise into the village. The police also ticket those speeding up as they leave the village from the West…except they haven’t left the village before they pass the radar-equipped car.
I personally have never received a ticket there, but that’s only because I know that they can be there any time of the day including into the evening until about 9 or 10 p.m.
State Street near Old GE Factory
Brockport Police enforce the 30 mph speed limit untill you pass the 45 mph sign and exit the village limits. I speed up when the 45 mph sign was in view and was pulled over befor I passed the sign, 10 mph over. A $250.00 ticket. They
hide in an old GE parking lot.
Rt. 19 and the Fire Station
At the corner of Rt 19 and the firestation, there is always an older Chevy Caprice parked there (College Public Safety). I’d say that this is a mid 90’s model. Posted legal speed limit through this section 30 mph, I was stopped there for doing 33Mph. Wrote ticket for 3 mph over. Sometimes you will see Brockport police sitting there with him.
