Cayuga Heights, New York Speed Traps

CHPD and Cornell PD sit on the west side of Pleasant Grove Rd facing south. They park behind some bushes near the sidewalk near the Child Care Center. You cannot see them when travelling south.

CHPD parks on Highgate Place to watch traffic moving north and south on the curve on Highgate Rd during the morning and afternoon "rush." You cannot see them until they see you.

CHFD sits in a apartment parking lot, facing north. They stick their car, usually an unmarked Durango, on the end of the parking lot facing northbound.

Police usually set up the trap at the end of a curve in the road heading from Cayuga Heights into Ithaca. They are especially active when Cornell University first opens in the fall and spring, alumni reunion, graduation, and parents weekend.
