Fort Ann, New York Speed Traps
State Route 4
There are a few on Route 4 between Fort Ann and Whitehall: 1)Outside Fort Ann as you get up the hill and the road widens, just past a rock wall, they back into a small dirt road to the left, you can not see the car at all if you’re North Bound and you have to be very close to see it South Bound.
2)The turn off on the right before the Comstock light.
3)The turn off to the right after the light(it’s very hard to see them in this one at night because of the trees and rock walls surrounding it)
4)Not all the time, mostly at night, they’ll sit in the entry way to Champlain Stone, past the light on the leFort (It’s hard to see them there unless you’re very close because of the tree’s along the driveway.)
State Highway 4 near Just outside Whitehall on Rt.4 going West to Fort Ann and from East of Fort Ann going to Whitehall.
State police and sheriff use radar and pacing on Rt.4 which has a straight and wide stretch outside of Whitehall going west to Fort Ann. Towns in this area are economically depressed and strict enforcement/ticketing offer lucrative sources of revenue. Fort Ann municipal court does not adhere closely with the U.S. Constitution.
Route 4 between Rt149 and Rt22 south stop light
This is major route to Vermont for all East bound traffic.Its a favorite spot to keep the tickets totals high..good road after many miles of bad..Most tickets are probably given to those who were speeding..and lots of them!!
