exit 124 after the Quick Check at the mobil station

Goshen, New YorkJul 31, 20130 Comments

The police car is waiting at the light. He said I had a red light. He stated that I was going 45 in a 30 mile per hour zone. I was not speeding to make the light. This is right after the exit of the highway and right after the quick check. He waits at the mobil station. This is a real village of goshen revenue maker

Reservoir Road

Goshen, New YorkJun 03, 20110 Comments

There are three places where cops hide on this road regularly. The first is right before the overpass entering Reservoir Road, cops will park in the corner of the Keller Real Estate parking lot and catch people. They park in various spots along the road, sometimes inconspicuously in peoples driveways as the road goes uphill. This road is 30 mph from the hospital to the top of the hill and they will stop you if you are going 35. It changes to 40 at the top of the hill where Lower Reservoir Road crosses until you hit 17 again. They also park in the small gravel area on the far side of the reservoir and catch you as you pass Augusta Road.

County Trunk County Route 6 near State Route Between State Route 17A and Country Trunk Route 25, Pumpkin Swamp Road

Goshen, New YorkAug 29, 20080 Comments

Turning onto County Route 6 from Route 17A in the Town of Goshen, New York. The strip of Route 6 between Route 17A and Route 25, Pumpkin Swamp Road mostly downhill. At the beginning of Route 6, there is a 40 m.p.h. sign. The driver continues downhill, where there is a 35 m.p.h. sign than practically right after it, a 25 m.p.h. sign. In the dark, the signs are hard to notice. Driving through this rural area at night, with no street lights at all, the motorist becomes more concerned about deer or bear encounters. (We have bear in this area, and people sometimes hit them.) My station wagon, loaded with groceries and laundry, rolled downhill to 51 m.p.h., for which I was awarded 2 points by a State Trooper. He thought he was doing me a big favor by not giving me 4 points. I was the only car on the road at 10:30 on September 3, 2007. The judge thought I had nerve to even go to court instead of mailing in the fine and guilty plea. My husband and I have often observed motorists being ticketed on the hilly portion of Route 6 during daylight hours too. It’s harder to see at night which makes it an ideal spot for lurking troopers with a gripe against housewives and working people.
