We used to live in this area and I saw cars pulled over regularly during school hours (7 AM – 6 PM). They enforce the 25 miles per hour.
Interstate 190 near Just before the Beaver Island Exit
Just after you pass the No u-turn sign near Fuccilio chevrolet there is a bypass on the other side of that bypass a trooper is always sitting there shooting radar I’ve seen him nab 7 cars in one hour.
Interstate I-190
Speed traps on the island are very common. It is very easy to go 70 in this 55. They will sometimes trap at the Whitehaven exit. A car will be on the overpass with the radar. The day I was pulled over here there were 7 other cars pulled over at the same time. I have also seen cops in the median near Whitehaven and Fantasy Island. Tourists on their way to Niagara Falls and Canada love to fly across the island. I strongly recommend that you follow the speed limit here.
Grand Island Blvd between State Park and Whitehaven
Town Police and Erie County Sheriff patrol heavily during the day; Road will handle 50 to 60 mph near park, speed limit is 40-45 mph. School zone of 25 mph enforced. Town police routinely inflate violaters speed to increase fines.
