Herkimer, New York Speed Traps

Just before exiting downtown we picked up speed for the hill climb. Downtown limit is 30. We saw sign up hill for 40. Apparently we hit that limit between the 30 and 40 mph signs. Pulled over past the Lowes on the right shoulder. Within the edge of downtown to the top of the hill is less than a mile,yet the limits go 30-40-55 then to 45 at the top of the hill. If close attention is not paid its very easy to be deceived.

Just past Lowe’s near the West Canada Bridge. There is a spot where they sit as the speed limit goes from 55 to 40. Also, in old Movie Gallery parking lot just past the above mentioned spot, about 200 feet down the road.

After you go around the curve heading down the Hill @ HCCC there is a Herkimer Police officer sitting on the right side sort of hiding. Its a 30 mph zone its sort of hard to do 30 down this hill. I got tagged today for about 20 0ver…This is the 1st time I have seen the police there but I asked around and i guess it happens often….
