Highland, New York Speed Traps

Lloyd police sit in the parking lots around the lights nailing people for running yellow lights. Trust them to call a yellow a red. If your driving into new paltz they are usually parked in the parking lot to the left just after the light. The building is gray (July,2011)

The Mid-Hudson bridge spans the Hudson River connecting Poughkeepsie to Highland. The Highland off ramp in either direction is a big time speed trap. Most heavily patrolled during morning rush hour, the speed limit is 20 mph, but most folks travel this 4 lane connector safely at about 35 mph. I see people getting tickets every week, particularly heading toward the bridge on their way to Poughkeepsie.
