All new Rt#17 (#86) Quickway highway construction around Parksville, NY a few years ago. Steep downside on this ramp heading west. State PD hide at base of this slope on a rarely used entrance (sm parking area) to the highway on the right.

They sit in the driveway of the bungalow colony and wait….

Heavy construction, due to the Parksville (exit 98) by-pass, has created extensive areas of reduced speed/work zones. Count on being caught if you exceed the limit in these areas. The installation of median guard rails from exit 94 to exit 101 has greatly reduced the crossovers and areas for radar cars to hide. Of course they do still sit on the exit 99 overpass, facing east, in the westbound lane, and then backing of the bridge across the off ramp and down the on ramp when their hand held unit gets ya.

New York State Trooper hides on over pass, has clear view over one half mile

Trooper will sit hidden under overpass. As you pick up speed going down hill they get you.
