Lynbrook, New York Speed Traps
North Bound on Atlantic Ave towards Union, there is a parking lot with a bunch of bushes at the corner. Lynbrook cop hangs out behind bushes and can see you through the bushes but you cant see him until its too late.
When you cross over from the hewlett side of peninsula to the lynbrook sign, designated by the welcome to lynbrook sign. There is usually a late model dark blue crown victoria stationed towards sunrise highway. i’ve seen this guy for years since i live on peninsula. he is tough and will pull you over for 40 in the 30. his times are early morning rush hour to mid afternoon.
Beware of Lynbrook PD parked on the side of Sunrise Hwy in either direction. They like to park amongst parked vehicles and use outside of the car radar that sits along side the rear passenger side door of their four door crusiers. I have personally been nabbed by this technique and have seen more than one other person nabbed between Peninsula Blvd and Horton Ave.
Everyone who has travelled it knows Sunrise Highway’s limit is 50 mph but when you leave Oceanside and enter Lynbrook the speed limit drops from 50 to 30mph,its a 1/2 mile stretch that goes back up to 50mph.Its always being patrolled more so at night. They got me doing 53
