Manlius, New York Speed Traps

Well known among community residents. The speed limit on this road is underclassified as a 30MPH road. The speed limit is STRICTLY enforced and motorists are urged to be careful

Manlius Police LOVE this road and school zone to catch speeders. The speed zone is 15 MPH until 6:00 pm. Before the school the speed is 40 MPH, then drops to 30 MPH, then the school. They also hide in the parking lot late at night anytime all the time to catch people coming from bars. Big shoulders always seeing ‘Sobriety Tests’ occurring.

The Manlius Police make a game of masquerading as parked cars all along Route 92 in the village (Fayette, E. Seneca, and Washington Streets), but what better place to park a shiny white police cruiser than in a body repair shop? You won’t see him before you make that turn onto Washington Street towards Cazenovia, but as you do you’ll see he’s clocking you from the rear with his SUV aimed right at you!

I was reluctant to give this trap a High Enforcement rating, but this quiet town has too many officers on patrol in the evening hours with not a whole lot to do. It is possible to get pulled over several times in a row (by different officers) just passing through the village driving a fancy car.
