Route 145

Middleburgh, New YorkJun 23, 20120 Comments

Basically, anywhere along Route 145 from the Route 23 junction (near Exit 21 on the New York State Thruway) all the way up to the Route 20 junction (near Sharon Springs). Police are everywhere. The community is poor and they are trying to raise $$ through ticket. Lots of sudden changes to maximum MPH give the police many opportunities to snag you. AVOID the whole route! As an alternate, take Route 28 or just stay on the New York State Thruway; it’s boring, but cheaper 🙂

Just outside of town

Middleburgh, New YorkFeb 20, 20110 Comments

Hwy 145N leads into Middleburgh, the posted limit is 55mph. However you are driving downhill for about 7 miles so you tend to go a bit faster. The speed limit just as you enter town is 30mph. Unless you are aware of this difference, you will have to hit the brakes hard. The troopers are waiting fore this and will pull you over into the parking lot of the local diner.
