Campfire Road

Right near (usually just before) the exit ramp for the southbound side of the Taconic State Parkway, a cop usually sits in an area currently being used to store construction materials. This is right at the end of a straightaway which is very long for one in Millwood. The speed limit, I believe, is only 30 (maybe 35) and the construction equipment makes it impossible to see the cop, so there’s a huge risk with this one.

a turn around used by highway dept and troopers south of the millwood exit–for northbound troopers use brush as cover and get you as you go by–southbound they wait for you to come over the hill

Further north from Rocky’s Deli AND the next traffic light. Heading north you’ll often find a patrol car parked in a shady shoulder just before the IBM building road. The sparce amount of light really helps to conceal the car so beware! speed limit is still 40mph.

Heading north of rt 100, you’ll pass Cornell Woods. Don’t pass it too fast, because just south of Cornell Woods is a small shoulder were ConEdison usually does work. When they aren’t doing work, there can be a patrol car there. At this point, you’ve already gone downhill so it’s really easy to pick up speed. This ain’t so bad because at the bottom of the hill is Cornell woods and just after it, the speed limit changes from 40mph to 50mph.

Just north of Rocky’s Deli and before the next stop light. There is a town Police car that waits at an angle on a deserted road pointing his car south. It’s really easy to miss him if you’re going fast. the speed limit is 40mph and I doubt he’d care if you were doing 47.
