Nassau, New York Speed Traps
1 mile west of Nassau on route 20
Coming east, there is a long downhill in a 45 mph zone. Car will accelerate while coasting.
Both state and town police set up at the bottom of the hill on the north side of route 20 to catch eastbound motorists coasting down the hill
The village is a speed trap which is vigorously enforced!
The police sit just inside & outside the village limits catching anyone entering or leaving that happen to exceed the posted speed limit.
Any infraction of the motor vehicle code is rigidly enforced!
I was issued a ticket because I didn’t use my “TRAFFIC INDICATOR” in making a turn onto Rte 20 from a stop sign. At the time no one was coming in either direction to see it if I had turned it on.
It has a high volume of traffic during the summer months because of Lebanon Valley Speed way (east of the village).
Nassau Village is on Rte 20 and Rte 203, east of Albany NY on Rte 20.
On Salisbury Park Drive at Stratford Drive
A highway patrol officer parks his patrol car on Stratford Drive and stands on Salisbury Park Drive and uses handheld radar. It is a 30mph but don’t go over 40 or else. This is a new spot as of Jan.2012
