North Collins, New York Speed Traps

If you are heading South on RT75-Sisson Hwy in Langford, the police like to sit back in the church parking lot (on the right) after Langford Rd-RT 249. The 45mph speed limit sign is about a mile back. They also catch you as you are coming into Langford going North. The speed limit changes to 45 as you come up a small hill. Right at the top of the hill past a yellow house, there is a driveway hidden by pine trees. Since you have your foot on the accelerator going up the hill, once you reach the top and level off they will get you for speeding. You won’t even see them til the lights come on.

The speed limit is 35 through here. A bit unrealistic for country roads. Make sure that when you make your stop at the 4way stop sign at the intersection by the Old St Marys Church, Uncle Franks bar & the ball diamond – you make a full stop and wait. They hide in the church parking lot and will get you for not making a complete stop.

This is a difficult one. The cops like to hide out in the newer Langford-New Oregon Fire Hall parking lot. There are trees on both sides so you won’t see them til it’s too late. Closer to RT75 – Sisson Highway. If you are heading up from New Oregon, you will be going up hill all the way for a couple miles and they will get you.
