Pawling, New York Speed Traps
Dutcher Avenue near Henry Street
Dutchess County Sheriffs will sit inside their car park on the northbound side of Dutcher Avenue (County Rte. 69), just south of Henry Street. His cruiser is not visible to you until you ’round the curve’. Usually using X band radar. Speed limit which is strictly enforced is 30mph. A little unrealistic considering the area.
State Route 55 near Harmon Hill South Road
NYS Trooper literally hides inside the bushes on the south-west corner of Harmony Hill Rd South. You can see the tire tracks to his hiding position. Eastbound on Route 55, by the time you crest the hill at Harmony Hill Rd., and you can see the trooper’s car – he got ya! Speed limit is 55mph. Going Westbound, you will never see him.
Route 22 near OTB
NYSP & Dutchess County S.O. both use a cut in the median near the OTB (1/4 mi. north of Hannaford Supermarket). Have been pulled over at least four times. Speed limit is alledgedly 40 mph. SHOW ME A SIGN !!! Only nearby sign shows 55 mph. I will say I never received a ticket though, talked my way out of them fairly easily !!!
