Overlook Road near State Route 44
Overlook Road between routes 44 and 55. Police sit in either the church parking lot (closer to route 44) or down in a gully off the road (facing westbound) just before 1st the bridge over the Wappinger Creek. This is a rural straightaway with no houses close by and a speed limit of thirty. It makes no sense because after you pass the non residential area and approach the area where there are houses (and an Ice Cream Parlor whre children frequent) the speed limit INCREASES to 40 mph. When you are coming from Route 55 its especially tricky as the speed from that directions drops down to 30 and you wouldnt expect that when the houses stop and you have open fields on both sides of the road. The sign for the church hides the cruiser when approaching from that direction.
