Roslyn, New York Speed Traps
Old Northern Blvd and Main Street
Nassau Police sit and observes cars coming out from tavern (Especially if your car is expensive brand) As you make a right from the parking lot, Police watches you move. Police follows your car movement for approx 1100 feet from the restaurant as you plan to make a left. From the Restaurant to the light is approx 7-10 seconds at 15mph. Once you make the left turn from the light, they watch is your car to see if it touches the white lines on the floor. Police will claim you are zig-zagging. I have seen many drive pulled over to the side in the last two years and they charge many with DWI even though your breath-test shows borderline.
Northern Boulevard near Mineola/ Willis Avenue
Unmarked vehicle, however worst part is trials are held in Roslyn Court (kangaroo) will let you plead guilty to anything as long as you pay the fine.
northern Boulevard near right after the viaduct before ralley motors
the unmarked impala sits right after the viaduct with laser in hand waiting for people to come off of the viaduct
Glen Cove Road near Harbor Hill Elementary School
One or two Nassau police cars set this trap from the TJ Max parking lot, directly across the street from the BP station. If you are driving north on Glen Cove Road, the speed limit rapidly drops from 45mph to 30mph as you pass the Harbor Hill School. Most motorists don’t slow down, especially at night, when there’s less traffic on the road, so it’s easy to get caught above the posted limit.
LIE Westbound Service Road between Glen Cove Road and Roslyn Road
2-3 Nassau County motorcycle cops will stand on the right shoulder with the radar gun in hand. The road is wide open and the speed limit drops to 35. People getting off the LIE will not realize the drop in speed limit and will get taken down.
