Saratoga Springs, New York Speed Traps

going west into the city as you break the Union Ave. hill there is a local PD in the median clocking both east and west bound traffic in the 30 mph zone

This is not meant to be a speed trap, but it is the site on a regular basis for a checkpoint where they stop each car to look for seatbelt and hands free cell phone compliance as well as making sure your registration and inspection have not expired. There is a spotter car before you make the turn onto the exit ramp.

Observed one NYS Trooper sitting in an emergency U-Turn road around mile marker 36.5 on I-87 northbound. Trooper was using LIDAR (according to my detector) to track northbound traffic, and was very difficult to see due to surrounding trees.

Officer was in the shawdow of overpass shooting @ northbound traffic with laser and Ka band rader. I have seen them very often the last month. To all locals: they are varying the normal areas often and are becoming "unpredictable". Thank God my Escort picked up the laser om another vehical.

its as your just coming into town (north) where the limit drops from 55 -40 – 30 drasticly i see people pulled over about 3 times a week going both ways
