Scipio Center, New York Speed Traps

The speed zone is very short and the speed limit drops dramatically to 40mph. If you don’t see the sign…strategically placed among low hanging trees and other distractions, you cannot react in time. Out of state drivers take note: you are vulnerable. A local passed me because I was slowing and looking for a cross street. The police officer ignored the NYS driver..who had pulled over obviously anticipating a ticket. I pulled over to let the officer pass and to hopefully catch him to ask for directions. He tagged me for speeding and not the driver that passed me. He repeated several times that I was out of state and I would have to pay or come all the way back to fight the ticket. Meanwhile the NYS driver realized he was off the hook and pulled out…untouched. The officer tore off the form that had the previous ticket bottom attached…same day…he had been a busy guy that day.
