Pinewoods Avenue by Emma Willard

Troy, New YorkAug 06, 20020 Comments

Usually park in the Pinewoods Entrance to the Emma Willard school. Seem to be targeting parents picking up kids from local schools as that is the time of day that I always see them. Per Troy, can be pled down to ‘parking on sidewalk’–Troy gets to keep 100% of non-moving violation money and only 50% of moving violations (rest goes to the state.) Beware of driving anywhere in Troy during fiscal crunches–it is not unusual to see more then 200 people at traffic court.

Oakwood Ave (All Over!)

Troy, New YorkAug 04, 20020 Comments

On Oakwood Ave, once it turns into 30mph from 45mph, there’s about 5 places where cops sit. Most of the time they’re by the gates to the cemetery, across from the Martin Luther King apartments entrance near some NiMo thing, or in the parking lot to the little pond. Been pulled over for doing 33 in the 30. Let go with a warning.

Oakwood Avenue (Rte. 40) at M.L. King Apt. driveway

Troy, New YorkFeb 01, 20020 Comments

Cops are parked immediately before driveway as you head south, behind a utility pole hidden by overgrowth. AND / OR – cops are parked immediately across from ML King driveway at a NiMo gas substation, hidden from northbound traffic view. Posted speed is 30, after traveling a 45 zone (southbound). Roadway is suited for higher speed. Classic trap with unlimited financial potential
