Warwick, New York Speed Traps
The town of Pine Island has a 30 mph speed limit. Coming out of the hamlet of Pine Island on 1A (towards Route 94), it seems like the speed limit should be 50 or 55 mph. If you do not wait until you actually bypass the 55 mph sign (don’t gear up to get ready for it), you will be in the 30 mph zone. I just got clocked at 49 mph as I was getting ready for the speed change. Further down the road and it is marked it goes back to 45 mph. Keep alert on this road.
This speed trap is tricky to see if drivers are coming from the Warwick High School, Middle School, or St. Stephens Elementary School toward the Village of Warwick. Easier to see if motorists are driving away from the Village south toward the school grounds. The patrol car is backed up against trees in the front of the fire house, but on the south side of the lot.
Speed change from 55 to 45 while going down hill into the small valley. Cop sits on the uphill slant closer to Pine Island. If you are heading away from town you have a few seconds to react since the radar guns can’t capture a speed while turning.
Warwick Police sit across from a school parking lot.The speed limit drops to 20mph (school zone) School hrs. 7:30AM-4:30PM.
Normal speed limit is 35mph. Always enforced!
The cop sits on 17a coming off of mt.peter in the bus parking lot and gives tickets for anything, speeding, seatbelts, anything, you name it
