Doesn’t matter which way you are going. As soon as you enter North Carolina from either Tennessee or S. Carolina the speed limit drops and the police are waiting within 1/4 mile of the state line to see if you noticed. If you missed it, you get a ticket – especially if you are from out of state!

Speed limit drops from 35 to 30 to 25mph within 3 blocks, APD set up in parking lots shooting northbound traffic. They also like to set up on the street just north of Macon where the limit is 25mph hitting traffic before it turns up Macon toward the Grove Park Inn.

The Asheville City police set in the lot at Balls Service Station with their lights off pointing towards town and clock people coming down the hill from the light at Malvern Hills entrance. They mostly do this on weekend nights but any night after 10:00 PM they could be there.
