Beaufort, North Carolina Speed Traps
Lennoxville Road
Beaufort marked cruiser has been stationing himself several feet off of the road behind a large tree or a group of bushes. Due to the darkness caused by the shadows during this time of year, the cruiser is nearly impossible to see until it is too late. One day he was down near the Carteret County Education building; yesterday he was opposite Laurel Lane.
Lennoxville Road at Ocean Street
The Beaufort police have been hiding in the parking lot of the abandoned Citgo gas station along Lennoxville. They are pulled back off the road far enough so that you do not see them until you pass their cruiser.
US70 at the Beaufort side of the draw bridge.
A "slick-topped" Beaufort cruiser was parked at the Beaufort side of the draw bridge where the speed limit drops from 45 to 35. This is a new location!! Coming over the rise in the bridge, you can not see the cruiser until you are right parallel with him.
Lennoxville Road near Carrott Island Lane
Beaufort cruiser was sitting in the shadows being casted by a group of trees making it very hard for motorists to see him. Beaufort PD seems to be doing radar on several different locations along Lennoxville, so be careful!!
Lennoxville Road opposite MacGregor Drive
A Beaufort PD marked cruiser was parked behind a construction sign using radar both ways along the straight stretch of Lennoxville Rd. He was there for hours, so I guess the fishing was great!!
