Carolina Beach, North Carolina Speed Traps
Right on edge of wood line diagonal to state park
Police love to hide at the edge of the woodline using the trees as cover when your heading north on Dow Road. They hide in the dirt parking lot of Carve Surface Works. If your heading south, you can see them sitting in the parking lot on the side of the large yellow industrial building but while heading north, you have no idea until it’s too late.
Lake Park Boulevard near Snows Cut Bridge
Carolina Beach police wait beside the Walgreen store as you come over the bridge into Carolina Beach. You cannot see them but they can get you. The speed limit is 45MPH, but most pick up speed as they come down from the high point of the bridge, then they nab you. Its part of their "anti-tourism" campaign. Friday evenings when the weekenders come down is the worst time.
