SW / SE Maynard Road

Cary, North CarolinaJul 20, 20180 Comments

Cary Police in both semi marked, fully marked patrol cars and also on motorcycle are constantly on patrol for speeders on this road. Not sure, but I think they use Laser. Also note that this road is 2 lanes each way, with a center turn lane. The road is posted with a 35 MPH Speed Limit and it seems they will pull you over for 40MPH or higher. This road really needs the speed limit upped to 40 to 45 MPH as that is what most traffic is doing on this road. I can see 35 MPH on the side roads where it is 1 lane each way. Cary seems to have adopted this speed as a “money maker”

Lake Pine, near entrance to Lake Pine Park.

Cary, North CarolinaJun 27, 20111 Comments

Approximately a half mile from NC 64 near the entrance to Lake Pine Park, at the bottom of the hill, cameras are set up for each direction to catch anyone exceeding 35mph. You may be doing 35mph at the top of the hill but by the time you go down the hill you pick up speed, and if you are over 35mph the camera will go off.

High House Road near Davis (Eastbound)

Cary, North CarolinaJan 17, 20110 Comments

Traveling eastbound on High House Road from NC 55 towards Davis Drive, after you come over the RR bridge and the Carpenter Upchurch Road light and down the hill a cop likes to sit in the entrance to the fire station on the right side of the road. I’ve seen him there twice now. He also likes to park his car out front of the station in a parking space. Make sure you go 45 through here from the light all the way to Davis. He is pretty close to the road so a good laser/radar detector should pick him up.

Interesing fact: you can see him on the Google Earth image taken June 1, 2007, parked right infront of the fire station.

Nottingham Dr to Buck Jones

Cary, North CarolinaApr 06, 20100 Comments

I sometime cut using Nottingham dr off Walnut to get to Buck Jones. CPD hides in the car wash parking lot for those going to Buck Jones, or a little by Donaldson for those going to Walnut st. There is a hill so apply brakes.

Evan Road between Cary Pkwy and SW Maynard

Cary, North CarolinaApr 04, 20100 Comments

Between Cary Parkway and Maynard Rd. Speed limit is 35 on newly widened road. Patrol on both directions due to increased traffic and speed of motorists on new road.
