Nations Ford Road near Near South Carolina State Line

Charlotte, North CarolinaApr 13, 20040 Comments

Traveled south on Nations Ford Road in south Mecklenburg County during lunch hour. The area is a rural area that appears to be a 45 MPH or 55 mph zone but actually is a 35 mph zone!
Look for the speed limit signs, I did not notice them! leading up to the citation!

Propserity Church Road near Dearmon Road

Charlotte, North CarolinaMar 17, 20040 Comments

The speed limit on this road is both 45 and 35. They are widening the road and it was lowered to 35 where they were working. They finished one part and it is now opened up to four-lanes but the speed limit stayed 35. Cars are speeding up once they get to the four-lane section and guess who’s waiting at the end? Mr. Police Man. It’s clearly marked 35 on the four-lane section so there are no excuses being accepted. Trust me, I know!

At the Circle K near McAlpine Creek Park, there is usually a cop parked in the parking lot who WILL pull you over.

Reedy Creek Road In Bradfield Farms

Charlotte, North CarolinaJun 26, 20030 Comments

Reedy Creek Road in the Bradfield Farms sub-division has a ridiculously low speed limit of 25 mph and the residents are very pro-active in making sure the Charlotte Police enforce the speed limit. The local ABC-TV affiliate did a story about it and the police responded by writing over 55 tickets in one day there last week.

Billy Graham Pkwy at Tyvola Rd

Charlotte, North CarolinaJun 17, 20030 Comments

Watch out for this area, right under the Tyvola Rd. bridge on Billy Graham Parkway. Cops sit under this bridge in attempt to "hide." The speed limit is 55, and if you are traveling from South Blvd, you will be coming down a hill as you approach the bridge which will more than likely increase your speed.
