Woodlawn Rd, between South Blvd & Park Rd.

Charlotte, North CarolinaMar 01, 20020 Comments

The police take advantage of any parking lot along Woodlawn between South Blvd & Park Rd. There are quite a few churches on Woodlawn, the parking lot(s) of each are favorite hiding spots (be especially aware of the church closest to Scaleybark Rd!). Cops also use parking lots of any/all businesses on Woodlawn, and vacant lots. I haven’t gotten a ticket here – yet, but traffic moves 15mph + over the 35mph limit – especially during rush hour. Have seen quite a few victims. Cops hang out at all times of the day/night.

I-85 South

Charlotte, North CarolinaJan 01, 20020 Comments

At intersection MM 32, state troopers in unmarked cars are waiting to trap out-of-town travellers. Speed drops from 65 to 60 and they get out-of-town travelers knowing fully well that most will not fight the $115 ticket. North Carolinians can continue travelling at 85 miles in this zone. Not a problem for them. This trap is only for out-0f-towners.

South Blvd. South End

South Blvd. near 277 is 35mph. Cops waiting inbound and outbound, especially right over the hill coming in to town as you get to 277. Consistently set up DUI checks on South because of all the bars.
