Concord Parkway near US Highway US-29 N.

The speed limit isn’t clearly posted anywhere and at any time of the day they can be hiding in or near the entrance to the gulf club as well as where the new convention center is being built. I have also seen them on the oposite side in the darker areas anywhere from the Concord Mills Mall to the Lowe’s speedway. Even in the late night hours after midnight.

Interstate 85 near Mile Marker 48 to the 63

There are troopers in Cabarrus County that work from I485 to Lane St. There is a camaro and a mark Ford patrol car with no lights on top running this section of interstate. Especially around Exit 63 and Exits 52 and 49 in the work zone. Be very careful..they sit mostly on the southbound ramps clocking people.

Be very careful when driving through Concord and the Charlotte area on I-85. There are many "Work Zones" where the speed limit drops from 65 MPH to 55 MPH. The "Work Zone" around Exits 46-49 is initially poorly marked and NC State Troopers park next to the "Work Zone" speed limit signs firing their radar especially on those in the left hand lane. Enforcement by NC State Troopers is so vigilant I would strongly recommend never exceeding 60 MPH at night in North Carolina especially if you have out of state plates. At night you can miss reduced speed signs so easily especially when there are many trucks travelling the interstate along with you. So go slow in North Carolina the fines are very high and there is strict enforcement.

State Highway 73

If you are either traveling on Poplar Tent Rd (Hwy 73) or Harris Rd.in either direction this is information you will find useful. On the corner of the intersection of these two streets sits a small conv. store called by the name of "Cannons Crossroad Deli". Therer happens to be a metal structure car-port that a NC State trooper likes to sit underneath late at night to check speeds the speed limit here is 45 mph but "feels" and "looks" like a 55 mph road ( and wherther or not you completly stop at the stop sign if youre crossing Poplar Tent Rd on Harris Rd.) This Trooper in hidden in the dark and backed under the car-port so watch you speed. He is after your DL and accepts no excuses.
