Glendale Springs, North Carolina Speed Traps

Heading south on a long, straight down grade just north of the Parkway crossing Park Vista and Benge Gap Roads, a Parkway officer is parked in a shady area on the shoulder of the north bound side near the bottom of the long decline. Posted limit for the entire Parkway is 45, but without braking near the top, you will easily coast to above 55 and get caught, long before you may otherwise brake for the curve at the bottom.

Posted speed changes from 55 directly to 35. No residential area. No accidents reported in area. No local law enforcement officers involved. State Highway Patrol lurks there for reasons some suspect relate to their need to make arrest quotas to please superiors.
