High Point, North Carolina Speed Traps

Local police radar anywhere from the shopping center to Barrow Road. Speed limit was reduced from 45 to 40 by local request of local suburbanites, as their boated SUV’s kept ramming into turns attempting to make turns into subdivisions. Congested during day, very easy to drive 50 – 55 at night. Use radar detector. Most people do not drive this road at 40, so it’s easy pickings.

This stretch of road is 2 lanes both ways with a large median, but the speed limit is 45 mph. Luckily the High Point Police usually don’t care about anything up to 15 mph over the posted limit. Anythinng above 58 mph out here and your gonna get pulled.

Along Barrow Rd. State Troopers like to sit in the many neighborhood entrances and their service trails with lidar and instant-on radar. They do this no matter what time of day, but especially mid afternoon and at night. They take great pride in catching people after school has let out and the school zone is still in effect. They use motorcycles and cars, and even the HP city police gets in on this from time to time.

SHP and local police (motorcycle and squads) will sit under the bridge and above on and off ramps. Have also been seen "hiding" in the median brushy areas.

Cops on motorcycles who do nothing but write tickets all day long. If you drive Eastchester or Westchester WATCH OUT!!!
