Talbert and Oates road. Side road in Mooresville that many use to avoid the traffic cluster on Hwy 150 near exit 36. It’s become a busy little area due to the race shops & NASCAR tech. The DOT spent the big bucks on making the intersection a 4-way stop instead of a roundabout or stop light. (Thanks Tax Dollars!) 35mph streets that easily feel & drive like they should be 45mph, but then why stop the MPD revenue stream… Ticketed my 16 year-old daughter, then myself the following year.

Speed limit drops to 55. State Troopers sit on the right side of the road for easy pickings…

Route 3 (Coddle Creek Hwy) south of Mooresville, around DEI

Mooresville, North CarolinaFeb 21, 20110 Comments

When you are driving north towards Mooresville on Highway 3, the road drops from a 55mph zone down to 45mph zone, just before you drive past Dale Earnhardt Incorporated. There is a State trooper that loves this area, the 45mph sign is 1/2 mile from the DEI complex and he constantly has cars pulled over in the DEI parking lot. This tells me he sits very close to the 45mph sign and yes I’ve been one of his victims. Don’t think you’re safe trailing someone either (thinking only the lead car will be ticketed), the trooper likes to pull over multiple cars at a time; again this is how I received my ticket.
