Morganton, North Carolina Speed Traps

This is a stretch of Hwy 64 south of Morganton that is hilly and curvy, and you are likely to be caught on a downhill slope going 70 in a 55 zone. Many big rigs are flying on this stretch, yet the cops will stop anyone, including the small cars thru here. They probably do not stop the big trucks because of the lack of room for them to pull over, the road is 2 lanes. So, they pick on the smaller cars who will not cause traffic back-ups when pulled over.

Often, the state trooper is tucked up against the trees, about 30-40 Fort from the highway. The spot is shaded for most of the day, and the dark color of the trooper’s car blends in rather nicely.
