Morrisville, North Carolina Speed Traps

Officers have been out catching speeders for the past couple of weeks. Motorcycle cops as well as cops in patrol cars. They park a little out of sight on Holly Creek Road to get speeders.

When you take Aviation Parkway South off of 540 toward the Raleigh-Durham Airport, the speed limit is 60 and it runs between the two lakes on either side past the end of the long runway. State Highway Patrol and Morrisville city cops like to hide over the crest of the hill just past the Airport Boulevard overpass where the speed limit falls to 45.

There is a speed trap camera with flash, on the signboard. Signboard is located soon after the I-540 ramp from Chapel Hill Rd/Hwy 54 towards Raleigh/Durham.

Troopers sit under the I-540 Overpass on NC 55 Highway West (north bound). Mostly going after NC 55 South bound traffic & the occasional north bound traffic that does not see the trap ahead.

Speed is marked 50MPH on a straight 2 lane road. Traffic flow is light most times of the day and moving at least 60 MPH.

Morrisville PD sits at the Firestation parking lot on Hwy. 54 just across the street from McCrimmon Parkway. Not sure but I think the limit is 45 through that area. Also coming down McCrimmon towards 54 they like to sit just before the tracks at a business entrance.
