Morrisville, North Carolina Speed Traps
Town Hall Drive near Morrisville-Carpenter Road
Town Hall Drive is a wide 4-lane street and is wider than any other streets around it. But the speed limit here is only 35 MPH while it’s 45 MPH on every other street. The cops are usually parked on one of the two side streets of this intersection.
Perimeter Park Drive near Airport Road
Police sit behind a hedge off of Perimeter Park and clock cars coming from Airport rd. towards Hwy. 54 (Chapel Hill Rd.) The speed limit is 35 and they get you as you come out of a curve and down a hill.
Perimeter Park Drive near State Highway 54
There are at least two different parking lots where the cops sit. This is a 4 lane road with divided median (iirc) thru a business park. Limit is 35, although it should be 45. During daylight weekday hours.
Morrisville Parkway near Creek Park Drive
Morrisville PD, Wake County Sherriffs Dept, and the NC State Troopers have been sitting on Morrisville Parkway from Davis Drive to NC-54 (Chapel Hill Road) a lot. At Morrisville Elem. School, cops like to try and catch speeders during school times. They like to sit across the railroad tracks over the hill, and they sit in the neighborhood entrances as well. Make sure you are going 45 from NC-54 to Creek Park Drive, and 35 there after towards Davis Drive (unless its a school day, because it is 25 mph then).
Aviation Parkway near Interstate 40
Just south of I-40 there is a bridge across Lake Crabtree. Cops will park at night on the side of the road just south of the bridge, and clock speeders coming across the bridge. Posted limit is 45, you should be safe anywhere 52 or below. I know two people who’ve been ticketed for 55 in a 45 here.
