Main St.

They like to sit on Main St. in the Wachovia bank parking lot at night. Their radar reaches north where the speed limit changes from 35 to 20. Late at night is when you will see them parked there when the bank is closed. Other times they will be parked on the side of the street in front of the shops on Main St.

W Academy St

They usually sit in the Doctors office parking lot next door to the drug store at w academy and holder st. They back in and can run radar both ways. Usually at night or on the weekends when the business is closed. There policy is they cannot stop you for speeding unless you are going 10mph or more over the speed limit. I know because I used to be on of them.

W Academy St at Hwy 220 Bypass Under Bridge

Randleman, North CarolinaJul 08, 20110 Comments

This is a usual spot for a license check. The officers are allowed to conduct one license check during a 12 hour shift. They like park under the bridge and get people coming off the south bound 220 and coming into town. If you exit the highway and decide not to turn to go into town some of them will chase you down and stop you for avoiding a check point. Which by the way they have no reasonable suspicion or probable cause to do that in this location. You can exit the highway and keep going straight to get back on and it’s not illegal to not turn and go to the checkpoint.

Worthville Rd. at the old ballfield

Randleman, North CarolinaJul 08, 20110 Comments

They like to sit facing traffic coming into town. They run radar both directions. The speed limit changes from 55 to 35 just prior to reaching the bridge before you get to the ball field. This is also a favorite spot for them to conduct license checkpoints. They usually set them up in the curve coming into town.

Commonwealth Rd. at Island Ford Rd.
