Stanley, North Carolina Speed Traps

All roads in/out of Stanley, NC have speed limits that are lower than necessary and lower than an experienced driver would expect. The police are constantly writing tickets for speeding that are associated with public safety. Speed limit has recently been reduced from 45 to 35 mph. Really hard to maintain 35 on hills and straight aways. Highway patrolman sits on edge of highway in grass near church and on curve.

Officer usually sits on the right side of HWY 27 coming into town at the bottom of the hill. Speed limit goes from 55 to 45 and then 35 as you enter town.
