In the area of roland avenue and n.new river dr., surf city police have a helicopter that hovers over the houses and clocks all the people coming down the road. Police on the road then pull you over, smack you in the eye, and give you a ticket. I personally enjoyed the experience. I have no complaints

Surf City is a vacation town that depends on tourists, but they also support themselves by running radar any place they can pull over at. This is done at all times of the day or night. They are also getting ready to drop the speed limit on major roades from 45mph to 35mph even though this will cause more speeding due to the area it is in. Topsail Beach also uses this method of collecting money.
