Tarboro, North Carolina Speed Traps
Corner of 64 Alternate and Kingsboro Road
There’s a run-down barn that sells junk/antiques. There is almost ALWAYS a cop sitting in the parking lot. At night, he’ll sit there without lights. It’s a 55mph zone–and invariably, people will go faster than that!
Howard Avenue near Peach or Cherry Street
Speed limit on Howard Ave. is 35 mph. This is a 4 lane road. Policeman sits back on either Peach St. or Cherry St. with his radar watching for speeders and seatbelts.
W. Northern Blvd. Street near Whitehall Street
Tarboro Policeman sits back several car lengths, to be out of view of oncoming traffic. Watches for speeders and seat belts…
US Highway 64 near Between US 258 and US 13
I can’t remember the exact location but it is somewhere between the east side of Tarboro and Robersonville on Hwy. 64. A NC State Trooper sits in the wide median just beyond a grove of trees and radars traffic headed eastbound towards the Outer Banks. The speed limit is 70; I went past him at 75, out of state plates and all, and he didn’t come after me. This really isn’t a speed trap but just wanted to put this out there so others will be aware that there is enforcement in this area. It’s easy to lose track of your speed, owing to the area’s flat terrain.
US 64 By-Pass near MP 484
In the West bound lane of the 4 lane just as you pass under the Edgecombe Community College exit ramp heading west the state troopers back up in the
trees and bushes in the island between the By-Pass and the ON Ramp. You can not see them until it is too late.
