Wake Forest P.D. sits on the north side of road facing towards Chalk’s Road. They catch you as you come over the hill and down the road heading towards Rolesville. They sit just east of the Country Corner Store. They also love to write seatbelt violations.
Hwy 98 Bypass near between Jones Dairy Rd. & 1A
If you are coming from Jone Dairy on 98 Bypass, they sit on you side after the guard rail. You can’t see them coming around the turn! Speed Limit is 55mph!
State Highway 98 near On the Hill near Pascal Golf Course
The officer usually sits of the eastbound side on the downslope(eastbound)/upslope (westbound) of the hill and catches drivers as they come down both hills where it is difficult to maintain the 35 mph limit.
Franklin Street
Franklin Street is a straight street which could easily have a 45 MPH speed limit, yet Wake Forest keeps the speed limit arbitrarily low at 25 MPH. You will always see at least one Wake Forest cop working this speed trap. This speed trap contributes a lot of money to the city of Wake Forest. This speed trap and other speed traps in Wake Forest pay for the excessive number of policeman and the car payments on their shiney new Crown Victorias.
NC 98 between US 1 and US 1 A
NC 98 in Wake Forest, NC between US 1 and US 1 A used to be posted at 45. This was slow for this stretch of road. A group of do gooder activists who live on NC 98 petitioned the state to make the speed limit 35 so that the area would be safer for people who live on NC 98. Yet these people recently built their homes on NC 98 knowing the speed limit was 45 and now they are whining that the speed limit is to high. The Wake Forest PD make their operating budget by patrolling this stretch of NC 98. They are there all hours of the day. Be careful because they are after non-residents only. Residents get off with a warning.
