Be careful driving into Wallace on NC 41 and US 117. Town cops especially enjoy nabbing the unsuspecting at the bottom of a hill on NC 41 heading southwest, just past a Food Lion shopping center. Wide lanes and the sloping hill will lead you to drive faster than the posted speed limit of 40 mph. I have heard of drivers getting tickets for as low as 45 mph.
