Interstate 40 Business near Interstate 52 North

Winston Salem, North CarolinaNov 23, 20051 Comments

I-40 business west, right outside downtown Winston-Salem, at the exit ramp for 52 North. Police car was sitting in the shoulder just past the ramp, where speed drops from 65 to 45, shooting radar behind him. The signs are fairly hard to see at night due to overgrown trees/weeds.

Silas Creek Parkway near Forsyth Hospital

Winston Salem, North CarolinaNov 16, 20050 Comments

Winston Salem Police Officer sits in one of two grassy patches right before you pass Forsyth Hospital. The officer turns all of his or her lights off making the patrol car extreamly hard to see, giving no street lights are around and the grassy patch dips down lower than the road. Possibly targeting teenagers.

Silas Creek Parkway near Miller Street

WSPD hiding at Forsyth Technical Community college lower entrance and/or at the entrance to the National Guard Armory. Speed limit drops from 45 to 35 from Miller St. to Peters Creek Parkway.

US Highway 421

Winston Salem, North CarolinaMay 21, 20051 Comments

(1)US Highway 421 is a 6-lane, divided, limited-access highway.

(2)The speed limit is 65mph approaching Winston-Salem.
A few miles from the city, it drops to 55 mph. Then,
with very little warning, it drops to a grossly-unreasonable
45mph…downgrade and around a right-hand curve.

(3)City of Winston-Salem police have a long history of
parking what looks like an abandoned car right past the
first 45mph speed limit sign. Then, motorcycle police
ticket drivers in hordes about 1/2 mile down the road.

(4)I became a victim of a slightly-different speed trap
on Thursday morning, May 19. In my case, a North Carolina
Highway Patrol unmarked sports car (probably seized in a
drug bust) sat just past the initial sign. He roared out
to pull me over, and ticketed me for driving 63mph in a
45mph zone.

(5)I am now required to drive over 100 miles each way back
to Court on June 14 to attempt to secure a little justice
in this matter.

(6)Winston-Salem is a "law-enforcement" city, and should
be avoided if at all possible. If necessary to drive through it, motorists are strongly encouraged to bypass
the City on Interstate 40, where the posted speed limit
remains 65mph and the sharks are not waiting to ruin your day.

Silas Creek Parkway near Polo Road

Winston Salem, North CarolinaJan 24, 20050 Comments

Silas Creek Parkway South (close to Polo Road Exit)

Winston-Salem PD sits on the side of the road (usually at night) shooting radar backwards at oncoming

traffic (close to Polo Road Exit). Officer has his lights off, so it’s extremely hard to see him at night.
