Woodfin, North Carolina Speed Traps

Woodfin between Asheville & Weaverville I-26. Speed limit 60 MPH not 65MPH so the nine miles over limit doesn’t work well. Usually 2 cars are waiting for you. Really money maker for the town.

US 25 business is a popular trap where the speed limit drops from 45 to 35 with no apparent reason for the change.

Route 251 is a major commuter route that carries heavy traffic during morning and late afternoon. It’s very curvy and has a lot of blind curves so the 35 limit is reasonable. However, most people routinely go 45-50 and the Woodfin cops are out here almost every day. They sit around curves so your safest bet is to do the posted limit.

The city of Woodfin runs three cars equipped with radar full time in traffic enforcement. This is a four lane highway, but is marked at 55 mph. Two of the cars are unmarked, white and red Crown Victoria Fords. They run instant on radar and stop everything that moves along this stretch of highway.
