Along 118 coming into and out of dartmouth

Dartmouth, Nova ScotiaMar 18, 20102 Comments

AT several spots along the inbound lane from Fall River roughly 2 kms,you can see them randomly stopped on side of road or in peticular median spots where they can park, then just before the top of the portabello hill they park off to the side, probably tryin to get people who are used to them sitting down at the cross over median by the waverley rd overpass, then they use radar on the left just above the overpass in the good parking spot…now going out to fall river, they will pick a spot on the left side as close they can get into the median and hid from cars as good as possible and they will either stand out near the road and try to laser ya,which I beat by the way twice cause if your 900 feet or so and they don’t lock onto ya..as your radar laser detector will indicate that the laser is not locked onto ya yet with a peticular beeeping sound, and if your outside of 900 or so feet, you can slow down FAST as I did from 130km,the officer gave me a dirt look when I cruised by him at 112 which they will not bother us…anyway radar or laser about 1 km from the Fall River sign in that spot..cheers

portland Street near spring Avenue

This trap is on the corner of Portland St. and Spring Ave across from the entrance to Portland Estates. Officer will hide behind a blue electical box and aim laser up the hill towards Cole Harbour to catch people coming down the hill going over the 60 k posted speed limit. You will more than likely have to ride your brakes down the hill to maintain the posted speed as this is a long hill and you can reach speeds up to 80 k if you do not. They put their patol cars on Spring Ave so you can not see them . They do not seem to be to concerned with speeders coming the other direction only those coming down the hill. There are signal lights at this corner so cars do stop anyway . I would think they would do more good at public safty if they were to set up at the corner of Portland and Jersey were there is a crosswalk and no lights as this is where a person was killed due to someone not paying attention to her driving .

Circumfrencial Expressway near Mic Mac Mall

Common for a cop to sit at the on ramp to the Circ from Mic Mac mall. There’s a wall or guard that blocks your view so you can’t see him until you’re past him. I’ve seen a cop here several times. I’m not sure how strict they are on the 80km/h limit, everyone does 90-100 there anyway.

US Highway 118 near Exit Number 13

Dartmouth, Nova ScotiaJun 05, 20070 Comments

As you’re driving on the highway just as you turn off by Miller Lake, coming down the hill before the Burnside Ind. Park exit, there is always a car sitting in the median. You come around the corner and downhill and it’s too late. Seen them on Sundays the most.
