Brunswick, Ohio Speed Traps
State Route 303 near Cherry Lane
Police sit in the tennis court parking lot between Cherry Ln and BlueBerry Ln on Rt 303 (Center Rd)
This is a 35 zone and since it’s downhill, it’s easy to speed.
Grafton Road near Salem Drive
Sits in park on right side of Grafton Rd just before Salem for traffic heading eastbound usualy in the morning….
State Route 303 Center Road near Pearl Road
On SR 303 (Center Road), after you cross Pearl Road, cops hide in the baseball field parking lot about 1/2 mile west of Pearl Road, on the right side of the road. They can be there anytime, but often in evening after 8 p.m. Limit is 35 mph, but motorist is often going faster because it is downhill from Pearl Rd going west, and you are moving out of the urban area toward the country. Going west from Pearl Road, you almost need to be riding your brake downhill to keep from going over 35 mph. Brunswick almost always tickets, far as I know, as tickets is one of their biggest sources of city revenue. The mayor’s court is pretty much full of speeding violators every time it meets, and cops are rumored to have speeding ticket quotas although denied as it is everywhere else.
North Carpenter Road
They will pull in just out of sight on side street across from St. Marks school zone, on Clover Drive, on James Drive
State Highway 303 near Pearl Road
Police park in the park-athletic field located on north side of SR 303 about 3/4 miles west of Pearl Road. Speed limit is 35 mph, where 45 would be more reasonable. Motorists heading west, past the speed trap, from Pearl Road are moving downhill through a less builtup area, where one has a tendency to feel that speed should be a bit higher than in the previous heavily built-up area of Pearl Road. Local lore says the police allow up to 40 mph, but to be safe I would recommend riding your brakes down the incline and passing the athletic field at lower than 35. It is recommended that motorists avoid waving or making any other types of gestures when passing this site.
