Portage Street “The Dance Movement” parking lot near Diary Q

Canal Fulton, OhioDec 16, 20190 Comments

The Lawrence Township Police hide on the south side of Portage beside “The Dance Movement” building parking lot slightly east of the new Dairy Queen exiting Canal Fulton heading towards Jackson Township. They will sit in the dark no lights on and clock speeders late at night leaving the bars from Canal Fulton. The speed limit is 45mph, however eastbound side of Portage in that area shows the speed limit being ending 35mph since there is an “End 35mph Speed” sign exiting Canal Fulton. The 45mph sign isn’t for another 0.5 miles between the “End 35mph Speed” sign and the 45mph is technically 55mph. I was pulled over at 1am for going 57-45mph zone. I challenged it saying it is 55mph where I was clock and I got it reduced to 57-55mph ticket – zero points but a $177 fine! They still havent put up the 45mph speed limit sign that area according to local resident saying it fell down a few years ago. I would recommend just going 45mph both ways to save yourself the hassle. The west bound side of Portage in that area is marked 45mph.

This speed trap is in lawrence township. The speed limit changes from 55MPH to 35 MPH at Alabama Ave. while driving on the same Orville back massillon rd. Only O.D.O.T. or the locals would change speed limits like this.

Cherry Street near Napa Auto Parts Store

Canal Fulton, OhioJan 16, 20060 Comments

Seen parked at NAPA auto parts store and various businesses on same side of street, they look like a regular parked car at the store and is hard to see them with their low profile flashers. Look out its 35 mph there, also keep an eye out in the Shopping plaza parking lot and the bank same side of street as NAPA. You can protest by not patronizing any businesses that allow them to clock speeders from their property.
